Default cam size for patriot ls6 heads

Whats the largest cam i can run with Patriot CNC Ported LS6 243 heads with 2.0/1.55 valves, GM MLS gasket, and stock bottom end 346 without having to flycut the pistons? We make custom billet cams at work so skys the limit on grinds, but i would just like to not have to flycut .

Thanx
Paul

I just helped a friend install a set of Partriot LS6 heads using stock head gaskets and an XER 230/230 .595/.595 110 lsa cam. ptov clearance was tight (.076") on the intake side but not close enough to require flycuting pistons.

The TREX and MS4 cams fit with the ls6 heads without flycutting and those are some of the biggest cams people use in street driven cars for the most part

Those cams PTV clearances are definately not street. Just happens that the market is ready to put anything in their motors as long as the motor still turns over.

hey, PRED,

thanks.
11+3 lsa, 108 ICL. i am not sure on the brand, whatever comes in the LS6 style stage 2 Patriot Performance heads. size, 2.02, and 1.57.

i am degreeing the cam. and have rollmaster chain.
if i am correct, i think if i mill to 62 from 64, it'd probably be .010-.015. so i could actually go with a thinner gasket. the milling is more cost effective at this time.
