Default difference between 98 and 99 LS1?

I was looking through a parts catalog at oreily's and noticed some PCM programmers but they were listed as compatible with a 99-up ls1. It wasn;t just one brand either. What's the diff between the 2?

Also, what's the difference between a 98 f body ls1 and corvette?

The '98 computers are pinned differently and have been known to be flaky when tuning.
