i have a buddy of mine who wants to get rid of his engine from his 69 camaro to buy a big block. he wanted to sell me his engine for like 200-300 bucks for the whole assembly. i would like to buy it but i have some doubts about it. he says its a 350 L48. i got the engine stamp 3970010 from it. i wouldnt mind having a another engine to run the hell out of it as a spare. if anyone is good with numbers from 1st gens please let me know what this engine is

Not familiar with the numbers but I'm sure there is a website where the info could be located, sounds like a pretty good deal to me no matter the numbers on it. TTT

That is a correct block code used in a 69, it was however, used in other years, other cars, ect as well. There should be a date stamps on the back where the flywheel is. Maybe something that looks like circles with a dial in it. The price is fair if the block is in good shape.
