Default .540 lift, high duration...ls6 springs?

Would anyone recommend or advise against using the yellow stripe ls6 springs on a cam with these specs:

Basic RPM Range : 1,500-6,500 RPM
Intake Duration @ .050" Lift : 230
Exhaust Duration @ .050" Lift : 237
Advertised Intake Duration : 314
Advertised Exhaust Duration : 322
Intake Valve Lift : 0.540"
Exhaust Valve Lift : 0.540"
Lobe Separation: 110 Degrees

What you have to do is find out what are the pressure requirements of the cam and buy springs accordingly.

One of my friends has had a cam almost identical for the last 3 or 4 years. It sounds nasty, much bigger than the specs. His cam is a Lunati grind and its 230/237 .544/.544 114. His car ran 7.39 @ 93.5 mph in the 1/8th last year. His last 1/4 mile run was in 2004 on his old tune which wasnt that great and it was 11.75 @117.6 mph. That should be a nice street cam and should sound awesome.

I believe he is running Comp 918's with that cam.

I wouldn't run a cam with that much duration on LS6 springs. At least comp 918's IMO.

Default edelbrock cam

I saw this cam tested in a magazine in which they started with an LS1 dyno mule. They valves floated with the LS1 springs so they switched to the LS6 and experienced no problems. They did suggest upgrading pushrods though. If I remember correctly this combo with a carb and headers made a little over 500HP on the engine dyno. I saw this cam new for $275. Has anybody used it? I would like to hear any reports.

First off, I wouldnt even attempt ls1 springs due to the fact they are designed for a ~.500 lift cam. I am very glad to know that someone has at least tried it with the ls6 springs. I am all about a matched combo but cannot find the spring pressure requirements for this cam anywhere. I havent seen any threads about the cam and if no one has tried it on the board, I fully intend on trying it. Im not going to say a lot about my project other than I plan on using the Vic Jr. carb intake and this cam not to mention its affordabiity and split duration which appeals to me for future nitrous use. I do know the cam is engineered to be used with a carb. Anymore input would be greatly appreciated.
