Default Moser 9in, my car sits like a 4x4 now!

Intstalled the 9in in the car and now it sits like a freaking 4x4. When I was jacking up the rear to align the shocks to the rear, i almost lifted the whole car! Nothing is binding up that I can see. I have Qa1 shocks on the rear and their set at the softest setting 0! I tried bouncing on the rear and it doesn't hardly budge. I am also using stock springs. I check to see if the spring where wedged up somehow and nope, there right where their supposed to be. I had a hard time lining up all the holes for everyting but managed to get them in. I don't know whats wrong. What gives? Car is a 99 SS with th400. I have a stock torque arm for now, but I should be recieving my umi one and panhard bar tomorrow. I am supposed to measure my driveshaft for shortening but Im afraid to do that with the car sitting so high. I bet the car sits approximately 2in higher in the rear now. I understand the rear axel housing is bigger but god, not that much! Anybody have any insight?

Check the spring perches, they should be located on the housing close to where they were o your stock 10 bolt rear. I really can't see that being the problem, but I'd start with it. Next, I would check for binding, something has to be really bound up.
The install instructions here may help you out.

I just ordered a 9" from exotic performance and mine sits in basically the same position. You must not have the springs in the pockets properly. Worst case you can remove the rubber isolators and just run heater hose over the top spring coil and that will lower the car a bit.

Not a bad idea. Thanks for the order! Bob

I had to do the same to mine. I have BMR lowering springs on the back and it sat up like it was stock so I also removed the isolators. It looks so much better now!

if you measure the seat bottom of the stock rear end with wheels on it and measure the seat bottom of the 9" rear end with wheels on it...Just to see if thats an issue.

As a side note to your other problem. I put a 9" in my car and didn't have to get a shorter D/S. My stock unit fit perfectly.
