Default Anyone made a standerd hood ram air?

I was wondering if anyone has taken the standard trans am/firebird hood and cut slits in the metal where the hood latch attachs to make it ram air? I was thinking of doing it in my street rod class but was wondering if it would be possible or if anyone had pics. let me know thanks

yea i bought my car like that. whoever had it cut sqaurish ovals and insterted a metal sleeve in the opening. It was very ruff when i got it. but since then i smoothed it out with some kitty hair and painted it. Looks very clean.professional. Its a nice twist as well as combo. Other ta guys always want to know where i got it

bad? did he do a shitty job? have any pics?

See as long as im in skool i have the tools and the instructors to make it all work. I was thinking i could maybe weld in some plates or something in there to give it more strength and also the air would have a straight shot into the air box rather than wrapping around inside that deal.

I did it to my first T/A back in 2000. I used a cutoff wheel to make some nice rectangular openings and then I used some narrow black door molding and fit it around the openings to make it look neat. It's not molding but that stuff you put on the edge of your door to prevent from dinging other people doors.
