Default boost???

i have a p1sc now with a 3.20 pully at 4.8 #of boost on stock bottom.. wanting to go to a d1sc.. how much boost and hp will a 4.50 pully make and how much boost is still safe????

Why don't you consider just upgrading to the 8-rib drive setup? With the 8 rib drive you'll get a 7.65" crank pulley vs. the 5.82" you have now. You will then be able to spin the P1SC much higher for more power.

Personally I consider 8 psi the limit for the cast piston shortblock on pump gas. Others has gotten away with more, for a while.

going from a 3.2 to a 4.5 is going to lower your boost and thus power. You need to go the other way. Also, it sounds like your bleeding off boost or major belt slipping. A P1 with a 3.2 pulley should make way more than 4.8#s.

the 4.5 was on a d1sc/ with a bigger 8 rib crank pully.but the 4.5 was still to big going to a 3.4

I have a d1sc with 4.50" pulley on my car and I am
seeing 10psi of boost briefly @ 6500 Rpm.
The setup is rated at 8psi. Which is the max boost I would put in a stock motor.
