Default True dual question

I trying to get a 95 6 speed camaro 355 with ported heads, comp cam, 1.6RR, pacesetter LT's, and some other goodies. He has 2 1/2 in. pipes with bullets dumped right after the header but it's to loud for me. It's going to be my DD so I don't want it obnoxious, don't get me wrong I still want it loud just not as loud as it is now. So Im wanting to run the pipe back a little farther and put some 2 chamber 40 series flow masters and dump them right in front of the rear end. But I dont know wither or not to run 2 1/2 in. or 3 in. pipes? How many ponies would I gain by changing to 3 in.? Thanks

2 1/2 threw a true dual is enough, you probably wont gain anything going with the 3 in, just get a universal x-pipe, good choice with the 40 serious.

I was wondering about the X-pipe. I can get a universal H-pipe for around $32 the X-pipe is a little over $80 is it worth it?

x-pipe all the way, ive never heard of an h-pipe on an f-body, i think there usually for mustangs, check summit for there universal x-pipes, they should be a little less than 80

Sweet I looked and found one for $40. Is there any difference in power between the moroso cold air intake and the summit by K&N cold air intake? I was also wondering about the ebay Throttle bodies are they any good it says they are good for up to 475 H.P. Would I need a 58mm or a 52mm?

Stock TB is enough for a 355, But if you wanna buy something pretty you cant go bigger than a 52 on a stock intake unless you port it out. Good Luck

Use those bullets and have a shop finish it over the axle

It was a X pipe I found it at summit. Since the stock TB will work would I gain any thing if I ported it myself?

if you want to calm the car down soundwise, you're going to want to go over the axle. dumps just put a lot of resonance in the car which is annoying for a DD. 40 series blowmasters wouldn't be my first choice.

I love the flow masters sound why don't you like them? What would you recommend? Do you like hooker maxflow mufflers?

i had a single 80 series flowmaster on the stock exhaust with a gutted cat and it sounded pretty good for a few years. but on true duals i wouldn't run them. i am running hooker max-flows on my new setup as a matter of fact. jet hot long tubes and 3inch true duals with x pipe and 2 - 3" straight through the center hooker max-flows and 4" tips.

Do you have a sound clip of your hooker-maxflows with your true duals? I've heard they flow great but they are quiet.
