Default Oil filter thread size

I have a 2002 LQ9 engine that used a UPF44 oil filter. I swapped the deep truck pan for the 98-02 camaro pan. When I went to install the oil filter, the threads on the camaro pan are a larger diameter. I thought all of the LS engines used the same filter. Has anyone seen this on the pans from GM? I ordered the parts from an out of state dealer. I looked at rockauto and they list a pf46 filter for both 02 escalade and 02 camaro.

After going to the dealer, I was told that the new 98-02 pans from GM are sold with the boss to use the pf48 filters that come on the 07 engines. It looks like the filters have an anti-drainback valve in them. I was also told that I could switch the bosses out from my truck pan so I can use the upf44 filters I already have. I am trying to find out if they make an ultragaurd gold version of the new pf48 filter.

Hate to bump an old thread, but I am having the same issue. I bought a new LS1 oil pan for my new shortblock and I bought the wix extended oil filter pn51522 for a little more oil capacity and is what I used on my old motor and it will not thread on the new pan. Any info out there on what I can/ should use? I'd like to stick with wix oil filter

Casting p/n on pan is 12558899 and GM p/n 12628771

Looks like you may have answered my question. I'm guessing this pan has the new oil filter boss then... Looks like I'll be returning this oil filter
