Default Issues w/F body 16" rims on back of C5's

Ok, so why is it that we can't put the inexpensive TA/Z28 16's on the C5's for the track? If it hits the caliper, can't they be ground enough to make them work?

I thought they'd fit but was recently told they won't. I knew I should've tried my TA rims on before I sold it.

I had 16x8 99 T/A wheels bolted to my Z06. You must grind on the upper ball joint area. It can be done. I also used a 3/16 spacer to get them away from the brakes. I have a set of T/a wheels with 28x10-16 full slicks with 3/4 tread for sale if you need them ,Ill include the spacers too. Pm me if interested.

Thanks GTformula. So the strength isn't compromised by the amount of grinding needed? You wouldn't have a picture of it after grinding would you? I've got some 255/50/16 BFG DR's sitting around that I wanted to use but just need the rims - and a spacer it looks like.

Sorry no pics. It was one of those rush for the track later that days. There is not enough material taken off to lose strength.

Thanks for the link and the info. Great idea for a cheap and light option.
