02-04zo6 vs 06 gto part2 the test drives :)
ok after all the online debate i went for a couple test drives today and....
its official....i WANT A Z06....just got back test drove a 04 z had exhaust(not sure what catback, intake(breathless performance), and big *** i forge wheels which looked badass(iforged daytona's wrapped in michelin pilots)....18k miles torch red and torch red interior, it was F'in awesome stomped it at 40 in second and it got sideways on me, didnt get to flog it much as the guy was riding with me but everything about the car i loved. it rode awesome sounded amazing, handling brakes...everything....then i went and drove a new 06 gto 6sp....impressive engine power over the ls1 gto's but it was no vette....for a brand new car i would have figured they would have balanced the wheels and it had gear whine....i liked everything about the vette better though. i felt like i was in an old man car driving the gto compared to the vette...wish the dealer didnt want 37999 for the car
though, although the wheels and michelin pilots prob cost 4 grand and the intake and exhaust already on it.....ill keep my eye out for a low mileage c5zo6 later this year when ill have bout 10 grand to put down....driving i was all smiles though

yeah look around for sure. You can definitely get them cheaper than that. Just got to look. Try corvetteforum, autotrader, cars.com. There are tons out there. I would definitely spend the extra couple grand for a low mileage one. I bought my 02 with 6200 miles for 34k.

hahaha, it's like those two cars are worlds apart! C5Z's really feel like a race car! Handling and performance, for the buck is the bomb! Good luck in your search. Post up pics when you get her!
