Default MTI X1 vs. TR230 cam???

ok. im really stuck between these 2 cams. i see the specs look about the same but i know there are probably some slight differences.

MTI X1 230/227 .591/.571 112 lsa

TR/230 230/224 .575/.563 111lsa

there so close but i see a lot more thunder racing grinds out there. any reason. what can anyone recomend me, which would be better???

looking for a cam only aplication. currently have a 99 C5 vette
short tubes, ls6 intake, 80mm tb, 3.42gears, corsa exhaust...
i am looking to upgrade to long tubes if nessisary...

The Tr230 has a bit more lope since its on a lower LSA. As far as torque goes, the TR230 will make 300lb. ft. torque at 2800rpm. I might be a little biased to say go with the TR230.

it seemed from most the videos ive seen the mti x1 cam seemed really lopey. but thats not the most important thing. low end torque is!!!
any one have a good comparison? or maybe im just looking at the wrong cams.

I had the TR230 in my car w/ stock heads and it was great. Made 116-118 mph in the 1/4 all day long and drove home w/ civility. The cam is now in my brothers car and he is quite attached to it as well. I don't have experience w/ the X1, so I can't compare the 2. My guess is the 111LSA(TR230) would have slightly more low end torque, but the cams are probably really close in overall performance.

X1 would be better with higher compression.
On cam only TR230 is a tough cookie and proven many times.
They are similar cams, if you overlayed them on a same motor they would be very close with TR230 a bit stronger in low to mid.

Our Camaro did 388/385 with the X1 on stock heads(241), no UD Pulley, and with a 3400/2.2STR TC. I have a video of it idling but we are on vacation in San Diego, so I will not be able to post it until next week.
