Hey bros, my friend was talkin to me today about this epicenter subwoofer device that gives you more bass. I said, "I never heard of it". He tells me that this guy at work is going to sell it to him for cheap, (80 bones). I think he said it was worth $140? Does this sound like a deal he should pounce on? I don't know what the hell this thing is but it reminds me of all those phony shit "inventions" like the "Tornado" that you put inside your throttle body for an increase of 20 horses. Bullshit. :eyes:

I think he will be using a 2000 watt Pyramid "Competition" Amp with a 12" Subwoofer, forgot the brand but he says its 1000 peak.

Thanx! :thumb:

Well the fact that he uses Pyramid should let you know how much he actually knows about car audio.

No offense intended here but a 2000watt Pyramid amp is like a 200watt Rockford Fosgate amp. I don't see many people using Pyramid, Lanzar, Pyle, etc. as there amp of choice for competition. The Audio Control Epicenter is a bass enhancing device. It is basically a bass processor. If you have a nice amp and a good subwoofer...this device is completely unneccessary. Especially if your amplifing a strong signal from a quality HU with good preamp voltage. Basically it is just a bass enhancer processor. Sell the Pyramid amp...combine that with the $80.00 he was gonna spend on the Epicenter and buy a quality amp to go with the sub!! That would be the best way to go....IMHO!!

Yea, I put competition under quotes because he claims its, . . "competition". I know it ain't. But yea, I agree, he should put together that 80 bux towards another amp/subwoofer. I'm just trying to help him out with what he gots already.

Anyone else have a suggestion or comment?? Please critic this as I need people to back me up when I tell him, "Don't do it homo!" :jest:

I believe it takes the frequency input and outputs 1/3 octave lower. I have been in cars that have them and they can be fun to play with. They make a pretty big difference with soundtracks that had little bass to begin with.

Heres a link if you wanted to read about the latest iteration of the epicenter.

I cant agree move however that a new sub amp is needed before buying this. The only thing your friend is going to do is take a dirty output signal that is already being fed to the sub and feed it a higher output dirty signal....this equals blown sub!!
