Question V6 F-body chassis and suspension

My son want to buy a 98-02 Firebird or Camaro. But he can't afford a LS1 so he's going with V6 and, I'll put in a twin turbo project for him . I have a question, did the suspension and chassis setup the same way between V6 and LS1 F-body? I know the K-member are different, just check in BMR site for some suspension/chassis parts.

I know most of the guys here have LS1 but hope someone can answer the question. Thanx for the help

This site has some specs on springs over the years/engines and for different aftermarket packages:

All of the parts are bolt on swaps, but they did not come from the factory with the same equipment. Spring rates are different, sway bars are different diameters, and so forth. The steering rack is a different ratio (and uses a different coupler).

The K might not be different per se, but the motor mounts are definately not going to be the same. I know the A arms and spindles are the same, so everything that bolts to the K is the same.

Take a look here and see if that does not answer some of your V6 specific questions.

So it looks like the suspension components are pretty interchangable.

For the most part.

That also means that most aftermarket parts for LS1 cars work on V6s as well, as long as they are not engine specific, but sometimes manufacturers will not tell you that.

But you will want to research spring rates and sway bar diameters for your particular build. They are all matched from the factory for specific weights/balances, so changing them up ***** nilly can give you a terrible ride. Same with aftermarket parts.

Read some of Sam Strano's posts/threads on that topic.
