HELP!!!!! Can't get rear rotors off or brake lines!!!
I'm doing a rotors/pad/brake lines swap. I can't get either rear rotor free from the spindle. Car has just under 71k on it.
I sprayed WD40 on the inside where the spindle and rotor meet then beat it with a hammer....no luck.
Any suggestions?

It starts off with someone asking about rotors that resist warping and turns into a discussion on removing stuck rotors.

Cool thanks.
Ok...next thing...how do you get the brake lines off from the metal/aluminum line? I got it off the caliper..that was easy...but how do you get it off of the non-flexible line without damaging it?
Do you need to remove that clip?
If so...how?

get yourself at least a 3lb rubber mallet.
if you hit it at the right spot, a whack or two will do the trick.
try to get the force coming from as close to the center as possible, then hit it so that the rotor comes straight off. try not to break anything like your abs sensors.

Ok...I pounded the hell out of it and it finally came off.
I was also able to remove the brake line. I had to use a Vise grip to get it off. Even with the proper sized wrench it still began to strip the nut.
I got that rotor finished and back together and I was going to bleed it. Son of a bitch wouldn't bleed. I checked the inlet and it bled fine. Then I took the bleeder valve all the way out and it was broken. The plunger had managed to plug itself into the hole. I had to pry it out with som needle nose pliers.
Sheesh...nothing is ever easy.
I need to run to the parts store tomorrow and pick up some new bleeders.
A 3 hour job turns into 6. Grrrr!
Thanks for your help guys!
