Big time power for as-cast cathedral port heads. It'll be very interesting to see what you get with the LS7x heads!
How big a cam did it take to get those results? My guess is you have to be close to a 250 @.050 intake lobe to get a 6500 RPM peak with cathedral ports ...
Will the warhawk block work with LS7 dry sump oil pump and pan?

The heads you used on this engine, what's the flow numbers? Just wondering what LS7 heads might offer it by way of power increases.
Basically this 427 is a ~500 RWHP stroker engine, what do you expect as an increase with LS7 heads?

The compression on this 427 Warhawk is the same as my 436 and the cubes are basically the same too (9 cubes different), my heads are cheezy 304cfm LS1 ported heads, and a stock TB with an LS6 intake. Mine is also 5 years old with basically the same power as the Warhawk 427, and the Warhawk 427 in question has a much better intake and MUCH MUCH better flowing heads. My cam in my 436 is tiny as well.
Whats the deal?????

The cam specs are right on the dyno sheets posted on the site-you're very close-and you can compare specs to the first tests sheets. Yes to the dry sump.

To be very frank-we don't have finalized flow numbers on both head designs. We fully understand the customer's need to be able to "shop" numbers among mfgs and porters and choose what he needs. Mitchell has never subscribed to publishing data about flow numbers (they're not even on our sites) but has come to accept reality and we'll start a program to do all our stuff soon.
For 20 years, Bill always measured his porting ideas by his ETs and later-by dyno results. If the dyno told us these numbers were seriously down, we'd have gone into the heads. We are really trying to get these parts and engines out to guys and have trimmed away the extensive test procedures needed for specs. We feel the heads are good to go as designed (and still be very competitive with the other quality designs out there) and the porters can make them exceptional. We really will flow these all and they'll be the production pieces, not prototypes.
Our priority is to beat the **** out of this mule. I incorporate any special build methods or changes into the instruction sheets for the blocks and heads, and later the engines.
Possibly today or surely tomorrow the 7X heads will run (same cam as seen now) and we'll show you results or tell you about any issues. The block and heads continue to work well together.

When you go to the LS7's are you going to go back to the .600 240/246 that was used in the first test?
I'm guessing with the LS7's 1.8" rockers the lift is going to be close to the .635/.635" on the first cam and well... .675/.695 with the second cam.
Will you try with a larger split then the 2 that were used with the ls1 heads?
How much for a 389 using the warhawk block and ls7 heads and say a small 232/238 cam?
Oh and congrats on the very nice numbers this combo is showing (even in the initial tests).

As far as I know, we're keeping the second cam in place with the 1.8's. Bill has been away and he calls the shots on combos. Stay tuned, I'll post when we pick it up again.
We have no price idea on completes yet as I mentioned. This testing is designed to find good combos for what the market wants and what we can safely warranty. Of course, with the Drag line up we sell that's not an issue, but Warhawk's not there just yet. I believe we're going to sell from 427 on up. Bill likes displacement.
