Got a Speed Inc. Street Twin setup coming and have a few??
I’m picking up a twin kit that should be here in a month or so and want to run a couple things by all you experts.
I have a forged bottom end now and will be swapping my current heads out to the 72cc AFR 225 heads. I am also pulling the TRex out to go with a more suited cam, probably the 225/225 581/581 113 cam. The TC is getting replaced by another Neal Chance TC and the gears will be 3.23’s. I know I need some 60 lb injectors as well.
Things I’m not sure about or need to buy:
Thanks,
Dan

Things I’m not sure about or need to buy:
- Head gaskets- what is the thickest safe gasket I can go with (.050-.060?)
- Fuel System- I have an in-tank 255 now, should I go with another inline 255 tapped off the tank and Y-block it together, or something better?
- Cam- any other recommendations?
- Exhaust- I have nice true duals now, go with that or go back to a Y-pipe setup out the back? CAT back options are limited to 3.5” or bigger for me. Mufflex and stainless works come to mind for those sizes, and I am trying to quite it down a notch.
- Boost controller- seems three popular versions around here- e-boost2, Exile MSBC-1 and AMS1000, just a little confused which way to go here, and is there anything different to control two turbo’s?
- Meth kit- need it or just run higher octane?
- Intake- I have a FAST 90mm now, Should I go with the LS2 intake, or keep the FAST?
Thanks,
Dan

1. Ask Jim Moran...his kit...use his spec gaskets.
2. Dual Walbro intank from Lonnies.
3. See 1.
4. If you want a single and good flow I'd do a 3.50 SW.
5. I love my EB2.....Apexi is junk IMHO.
6. I've done both...either works...meth is a little extra insurance if it's set up conservative.
7. I'm running a FAST 90 ....boost 18psi and down keep the FAST.
Best advice is to talk to Jim Moran at Speed....he builds, tunes and race 'em.

1. GM MLS
2. Dual walbro....eventhough I could never get mine to work
3. LS1speed Turbo cam
4. keep duals
5. EB2 would be easiest
6. High octane would be my preferred because less to go wrong
7. LS2 sux keep what you got

Thanks for the advice guys, really appreciate it.
I have been in PM's with Jim quite a bit for a while now and he is a great guy to deal with. I was asking him a million questions so thought I would bring a few here and give hime a break to finish the kit up . Sounds like the cam is a done deal then as he also recomended the 225/225, thought I would check what other peoples deals were to. I run a .027 cometic head gasket now since I have pistons .008 in the hole, worked good for NA....A .050-.060" head gasket with the AFR 72cc heads should drop my CR down to the 9.3 or less area I'm guessing.
I havent been this excited to do another mod on the car in a long time, lol!

How much power are you looking for and what Clutch set-up are you running and what are you going to run?
I just had Speed install a TTI turbo kit with the Exile MSBC-1 boost controller- I'm not forged so we are limited to 600rwhp, which is were we go to with only base boost with the TTi's 7-7.5psi. I can nt use the Exile MSBC-1, since base boost nets me the max power we want to be SAFETY at... Once i got forged, I can use the booster controller for two or three set-ups and the rest set for progressive controllers...
Speed does a very nice job, I'm sure you'll be pleased.
Good luck

What car do you have and again what power do you want to make- ran a baby cam the speed was impress with- 210/218 .551/.551 LSA 112... the car seems to run like a big block without a big turbo "hit"... very linear.................................... lots of torque low & mid range...

Car is in my sig.
I run a TH400, clutch is gone . I will run in the 700-800 whp area depending on how comfortable I feel pushing the motor. This should get me easily to my goal of low 9's. I see their last street twin kit tested on a 370 CI did over 800 whp through an unlocked TC TH400.

EB2 is a great unit to set up multiple boost levels. You do have to read the instructions since there are boost safguards that you program into the unit. Once set just select which level you want.
Biggest advantage is that the controller is very stable.

Thanks onfire!
ABeasst, and others, regarding the LS2 manifold, I thought it was good for FI and not so good for NA setups? If I push it upwards of 19-21 psi, will the FAST intake hold up?

I'll make some phone calls so I can finish getting all the parts I need to make this happen. I'm trying see if I can squeeze out a couple more bucks to get a 370 CI setup with a better CR as well. I'm gonna try and pick up the whole Nasty fuel sytem with his tank to. I'll sell the FAST 90mm intake.
Thats one killer setup (and ET) you have there. Wish I had the $$ to go that setup as well, maybe next go around .
Thanks for the advice!
Dan
