Default What do you guys think about Absolute Speed's Stage 2 heads?

I am thinking about getting heads in the future, and was wondering what you thought about these heads. I am going to put a cam in well before the heads... what do you guys reccomend. I was looking at the TR 230/224 111 cam. Is this too much for stock heads. If so there is always the 224/224.

Let me know what you guys think

Thanks

Thunder Racing would probably be able to give you the most informed opinion on that.

All I want to know is... would I be making a good decision in buying them (not to bash them at all). I just do not know much about them. I really don't know too much about heads in general. I mean I know what is good to a certain extent, but not all the technicals. That's why I look to you guys here for help.

Thanks for any feedback that you guys may have!!

Why don't you give Jay at Absolute Speed a call at 1 516 987-9392.He will go over cam selection and cylinder heads with you.

I am more than pleased with my Absolute Stage II heads ans 224/224 112 cam.

What are the differences between other heads, and why is Absolute Speed so much cheaper than GTP, CNC, or other big name manufacturers?

Also what kind of power are M6 making with headers, exhaust, lid, tuning, LS6 intake... and other bolt ons.... with the Absolute Speed heads.

Sorry about all the questions.. just want to narrow the decisions, and make the right one!!

I paid more for my MTI stage 2 heads. I thought about ASpeed but they hadn`t been out that long and I didn`t want to take a chance. I`ve heard good things about them(AS). I will tell you this, I`m very please with my MTI set-up. It wasn`t cheap but it sure puts out the power. My Sig shows my set-up. My timing is set at 23 degrees so I`m leaving alittle on the table power wise. And with it being a A4 I loose some also. With spraying a 100 shot I make it all up. Check my Sig out for my numbers. We just tuned her Thursday and we didn`t push the limit because I`m on my stock bottom. Jayson at MTI did all the tuning and it was great. There are alot of good people out there. It`s just a matter of fitting it in your budget! I`m very pleased! Good Luck with Your Decision! I`m E-mailing you my new dyno sheet, let me know what you think!

Pure and simple,Jay makes less profit on each set of heads.

He uses the best valves, springs and one of the best machine shops on the East coast[Merkel Racing] for all valve jobs, mill work and spring cut perch.

jfm-- I`m not going to argue with you about that. He has a great price on his heads. I could have use the money I spent on mine and payed down on me a all-bore block. I see his heads flow really we`ll. It`s just a matter of you doing what you want to do. In time his heads will prove themselves as being the best bang for buck set-up. We need alot more of this from all our sponsors. Moding a LS1 is High dollar! But again, that is what sets us apart! Just about anyone can mod a ford OOps I didn`t mean to let that slip out! Good Luck!

Not too sound stupid.. but Jayson is from Absolute SPeed right? So you guys are saying that it would be a good choice if I went with his heads?

Any of are sponsors if you talk with them SHOULD make you feel at home and confident with their setup. Just get some background, research valves, compression and such and go with what you want. If you have money GTP and MTI are bar none, TEA is awsome along with an awsome price head jay at absolute which will give you any info you need and takes care of you.

What cam would be the best with Absolute Speed stage 2? Mostly for street driving, some track time, but what will make the most usable power for the street. Will not be reving the absolute **** out of the car, but I still want the power.

Mike, you should really give Jay a call, he will build the heads according to what cam you want to use. I ordered mine from Absolute Speed back on the GP price and really got an awsome deal on the heads and there was a number of people ahead of me when I put my order in. There should be more numbers showing up for his heads in the next couple months with the amount of people buying them, and I'll be one of them, still using my TR224-112 cam . I can definately see why people may go with the bigger name'd head porter's until Absolute is more established, but the track is gonna tell if the $1500 heads work as well as the $2800 one's, and from some of the results so far, they are doing every bit as good, and if that's my case as well, I just saved $1300 (actually $1500 because of the GP), works for me..
