Default Going to a TR220 cam.

I have JPR S1 heads and Comps 216/220 cam in my car now. How much more over all power would I make switching to the TR220/114lsa cam? I don't want to go much higher than about 220* of intake duration. I want to keep my peaks down.

In an A4, maybe 385-390 rwhp? I'm more of an M6 guy. WIth a manual you would be at 400rwhp easily with LT's.

SS,

Yeah that would be cool. When I had the S2 heads and TR224/112lsa cam I made 410hp/395tq with my Vig.3600 converter. Now that I switched to S1 heads and a 216/220 cam i should be making around 270 to 275hp. So if going to the TR220 will net me another 10 to 15 rwhp through out the rpm band without raising my peaks too much, then I think it's worth the switch. Plus I got my TR224/112lsa cam with 500 miles on it sold, so buying the TR220 wouldn't cost me all that much out of pocket. Thanks for your help.

9RW MAX is what you'll pick up..
Not worth it Dennis...

I'd leave the car alone, the setup u have now is nice and streetable, runs real well and makes great power.

Four extra degrees of duration should raise your peak HP by 200 RPMs, & give you 6-10 more HP. But, it depends on your exhaust, intake, & other mods, too. The TR cam also has more lift.

Figure on 10 HP. Not worth it, IMHO.

Thanks everyone for your help. I knew I wouldn't make alot more power over my 216/220 cam, and 6 to 10 hp isn't worth tearing the whole front of the motor down again. Hmmmm maybe I just should have installed a '02 LS6 cam with longer pushrods and just enjoy the broad torque curve I took the car back to the dealership yesterday for squeeky rear bushings and now the car has finger prints all over it...lol. Geeze you think technicians never saw a modded car before But they did an awesome job on the car. As cold as it was lastnight and today the bushings are as quiet as a mouse.
