Who is going back, & when?
Just wondering who was planning to go back for more lapping abuse, & when? I want to get some seat time going fast down the front straight (more like ORR). I see openings on the 17th, 24th, 30th, May 8th, 14th & 29th. The 17th is out for me.
I also wanted to ask the experienced guys if the all day lapping session is a better choice than the afternoon session? I seem to recall someone saying that many guys leave early during the all dayer and you end up with the track to yourself in the afternoon. Sounds like what I'd want.....just about the time I get comfortable enough to go fast, most of the targets would be gone.

I just got my forms from Donna. I am planning on another trip out once I get a good look at a calendar to see if I can get there on a day off without having to ruin everyone's schedule at work.

For me the afternoon session was just about perfect because of the mental fatigue factor. Basically if I did the all dayer I would begin to make mistakes late in the day and not know why until the trip home when the adrenaline wore off and I realized that I was mentally exhausted The afternoon session would allow me to run at a very high concentration level until I was ready to go home + it's a little cheaper too. I believe that people do begin to file out early because of the same fatigue factor. Late in the day is when most mistakes ( and wrecks ) begin to happen. You become used to the speed and start "competing" more against some worthy adversary's and you don't realize that you're getting tired. For me 3-4 sessions was about max for 9/10ths driving and then for safety's sake it was time to dial it back a notch or just go home. Might be differant for others ? Any in-car vid Mark ?

Thanks for the insight Bill. We need to have a beer old chum!
Video, yeah, about that....I set it up during my first session & turned it on. And then forgot about it. I was so focused I guess little things kind of disappeared under the waves so to speak. And then when I replayed the tape I discovered I had bumped that pesky little Night Shot button & all I recorded was my dashboard & this BRIGHT white screen above it. Moron.....

Beer ? YES ! Hey you and Boyce need to get together for some video editing. His famous "rollbar video" would go together with your "nightshot dashboard " video superbly lol ! j/k !

I think I'll be shooting for a return on June 5th for afternoon lapping... I need to invest in a C5 brake upgrade and some new shocks, which will set me back about $1000 in parts.

I'll definitely be going back, but I'm not sure how soon. I have a couple issues to work out on the car and I need to see how much fun $ I have left afterwards. If you choose one of the Monday events I might be able to come and get some footage of you even if I'm not driving.

I do plan on having something before a very long time, haven't decided what yet though.

Wanna go down on the 24th Bill? You can borrow mine for a couple of turns....
They cancelled the 17th, but have 2 openings for people like me on the 24th. I may try to hit this one.

Its been my experience that the all day lapping is misleading. You do not get to lap all day. You go out from 8:30-9:30am for warm ups come back in talk to Don, go walk the track, wait for the school to finish and then go back out at noon. Just like when we did the half day this week. The costs is still the same. You will be paying more this year than last year (thanks to the GT wreck in California that killed two guys and is getting ready to come out of the courts). If you hook up with a club that has a track day then you can save some money. Basically, last year I paid $175 going solo or $145 going with Park Place. It's now $195 to go solo and with Park Place. I might join the Alfa club.
