ABS and Brake lites
I just had a new cam installed and the car dynotuned and I have the ABS and Brakes light lite up on the dash but NO check engine soon lite. Can you just reset the cpu and clear this? If so I'm going to pull the 2 fuses and turn the key on or would I be better to go over to the AUTO ZONE and let them reset them?

here's a curve ball then, i got my dyno'd and the ABS INOP light was on when i got the car back. i thought to myself "no biggie just a sensor underneath that got unplugged and they forgot to plug it back in" so i take it home and lift it and find that all of the sensor's were plugged in. i'm guessing that i could drive it off..... well i'm already at 1200 miles since the dyno, it's still on. any recommendations?

Well you were rite about that. I took it to AutoZone and there were no codes present and he couldn't reset the ABS/BRAKES lites either.Well time to pull the fuses and turn it on and **** it off. Damn i just about had it relearned too just when you think got it whipped. I'll make sure this week about the pluggins at the ABS sensor. My car has 3 Channel abs and it should be on the carrier housing.

The lights are controled by the ABS/TCS ecu. You need to access the brake controller, check and clear codes.
I used to work at Bosch in the braking division doing software, though the f-body developement was ending when I started in 98. I don't have much time know, but I will reply more later on items to check.

If you are on a dyno, expect a ABS/TCS fault. The reason being there is 0 speed seen by the front wheelspeed sensor and a large value at the rear. There could be one of several faults set but after an ignition and drive off you should be fine. Memory is rusty though. I will try to dig some documents up that I borrowed.

I don't recall if the lamps were directly controlled by the ABS/TCS ECU or if a message was sent to the cluster. I think it was a message, but I have not had time to dig up the documents yet or look at the service manual.
If the lamps are controlled by a communication message, it will not be possible to turn off electrically without building a "delete" box to send the proper messages. It is not possible to reprogram the ECU though as they are masked ROM parts.
If the lamps are hard wired to the ABS ECU, it should be fairly simple to wire in a simple fix.
I will try to check into it tonight, but it will most likely be tomorrow with the schedule for today.
