We just received our first LSx and are proud to bring you all the first peek! We should be receiving more of these very soon (should be receiving a few every day if not a truck load soon!) We will sonic testing one today or Monday to be sure how far they can be bored safely as well! We will post our findings ASAP!

have you had it out of the box yet?
does it look like an alum rod will work?
maybe some grinding needed, but wont be in the way of oil?

We haven't taken it out of the box yet...but will be sending this one to our machine shop to have them check everything out for us!

Guess they went with the ls2 style cam sensor for block integrity?

Can you change the lifters without removing the heads on these? Is that what those ports in the valley are for?

I think the rest of the industry should be shaking in their little space boots at this point.

the "windows" are so you can get to the BOLTS for the 12 o'clock position in the head. They bolt in from the bottom, so no holes in the intake port.

I assume we need a special tool to properly torque the subject bolts in such a tight area

If i remember from PRI, there should be enough room to get a 3/8" drive torque wrench in there with a shallow socket.

But I'll be able to measure for sure this weekend with any luck

Where do u mount the lifter trays I dont see any tapped holes for that

You don't. Gotta use tie bar style lifters.
