Default What is max lift with 1.8 Rockers?

If I have the 1.8 rockers, what is the maximum lift of a cam that I can safely run on a stock engine?

If you are talking about piston to valve clearance limits, we need to know alot more than just max lift numbers.

Thoes rockers are for people who dont plan on breaking into the engine for a while, or for thoes who run the LS6 cam. If you get a different cam your gona either run into not having enough spring or p/v clearence issues.

Let me re-phrase that question. If I have 1.8 roller rockers, what maximum cam lift can I run on an engine with stock pistons and valves and still have the valve-to-piston clearance needed?

"If you are talking about piston to valve clearance limits, we need to know alot more than just max lift numbers."

Stay with the stock rockers.

Your max lift will be not much over 0.600" due to coil bind and if you use double springs hydraulic lifters could collapse with the amount of pressure you will put on them with lifts icreased over 0.600

The piston to valve clearance has more to do with valve timing events and not much to do with max valve lift. (max valve lift happens when your piston is near the bottom of its stroke).

Max theoretical lift is around 3.9 inches

we need to know the duration of the cam. It is measured in degress of the cam. the higher the number the longer the valve is open. so say the exhaust valve is still open at 60degress before top dead center then we will need to know the lift.you could go with a 235 dur .580 lift 114 ls and keep the stock rockers with a set of isky springs. If you are set on the rockers use a 225 dur .560lift(with 1.7 ratio .592 lift with 1.8 ratio)114ls with the isky spring I would look into getting a crane lifter or something like a Schubek bushed lifter with the almost .600 lift if you got it apart.
