tuning software
what tuning methods does everyone use? hp tuners, efi live ect. Please give info on pros and cons. I'm looking at around 850hp with a twin kit on a 02 t/a w/M6. Also, how does everyone get started learning all the tuning procedures ect.?

you got PE mode for fuel, you prolly want 2 bar setup , with OLSD tune (no MAF) for your setup. and then spark table(s) along with your IFR (injector flow rate table)
thats about the most of what you will be using

hey thanks killa,
I was curious how you guys get started out and learn how to tune your cars. I sometimes get into posts where people are talking about tuning lingo and I'm freakin lost in the first few words. I mainly wanted to know how you guys learn the trade. thanks buddy

Download the free demo that EFIlive offers. It will have a few log files that you can play back to see how the software works. You can preview the scan and tune software to get an idea as to the layout and what tables are what, ect.
For me... I read alot on this board in the PCM/Tuning forum and the EFILive forum and played with the demo. I am by no means an expert and dont claim to be, but I have general understanding of what I am doing when it comes to MY car.
You best bet would be to jump in and ask questions. ZL1 is correct that there is alot of BS info out there and for me there is a select group of people that I will solicit feedback from.
I am partial to EFIlive. Greenlight Motorsports has some great package deals. If you do get a solution (EFIlive or HPtuners) get a wideband, too.

Do some searches on this board first. It will take awhile.
For software the common one's are EFI-live and HP tuners. Both of them can tune 850hp no problem.
I would recommend if your serious about building a big $$ setup like that is to have a proffesional tune it first. Then tinker with it after. This might save you from problems or actually damaging the motor.

I did a ton of reading & I still have a lot to learn. But I have my car running on a HP tuners 2 bar tune & it is pretty strong.
