Default Will 98 heads fit on a 01?

I am needing to know if heads from a 98 z28 will fit on a 01 Ws6. Will they fit and is there any difference in the heads.
Thanks, Larry

Yes they will fit. But you need to switch to the
98 rocker covers, because they are "perimeter" bolts instead on center bolts. The coil packs are different also.

When you say the coil pack is different are you talking about how they bolt to the valve covers? I also want to know if there is any difference in the actual head. Thanks for the info.

The valve covers that bolt to the cylinder head are different <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

You will be kicking yourself in the *** if you do this swap. The 98 heads SUCK! The valve covers are a major pain in the ***, they have 12 perimeter bolts that you have to loosen to remove them compared to the easy 4 bolts on 01 covers. The coils on 98 valve covers are individually placed as well, they do not sit on a rack that comes off in one peice. When you want to remove the coils, they have to come off, one by one.

I have a 98 and I was dreaming of the day when I could shitcan my 98 heads for a newer set. There is nothing wrong with the flow characteristics of a 98 head, they are just a complete PAIN IN THE ***. Now that I have 02 heads and valve covers, I will never look back...

If I remember correctly didn't the 98 heads have a notch in the face that wouldn't seal down on the metal head gaskets and leak? Another fun drawback. There's a post around here somewhere that goes into all those details.
