Default Alpine CDA-9885

Is the Apline CDA-9885 a good HU for my 01 SS, and will it run off the steering controls??? also run stock speakers for a while before I can afford new speakers all the way around?

Actually the PAC SWI-ALP should plug into the back of the HU with no need for an IR emitter.

Is this a hard install? I have installed some stereo stuff before but don't want to cut a bunch of wires, does the wiring harnesses work out well??

wiring harness is plug and play. you take the wiring harness, connect it to the new stereo harness by matching colors (verify that the wires go together since not all colors match), then just plug it in. if you have (an) amp(s) then youll also need to connect remote turn on wire and interconnects.
