Default Question about idle with a cam

Just wondering if this is normal. I have a mail order tune from RPM motors. I have the comp 228/230 on a 112 and when i first start it up it has to hunt for an idle for a few seconds but after that it is fine. I can drive around all day and it will never stall at stops. Only when i first start it. Is this normal with a cammed car?

Yeah, and especially since most mail order tunes are not spot on...Or if your cam is waaaay to big.

Jesse usually knows what he's doing when he sends you a tune. Keep in mind - tuning a car that's not sitting in front of you only adds to the challenge. If it really bugs you, you could have someone take a look & fix it. But, I say why bother? Personally, I wouldn't drive the car until the motor had a little heat in it (>140*F coolant temps) to save the springs. Cold springs plus high lift cam plus more rpms can be hard on the springs. I don't like changing them anymore than I already have to.

I know I have watched alot of videos of cammed cars and they all seem to hunt for an idle when they first start. Other than the hunt on first start up it runs fine
