i used the search wasnt satisified because i could not find exactly what i was looking for. i am swapping an carbed ls1 into an older car and was wondering if i can use the stock alternator? now keep in mind that i am using the ecu or wiring harness. on the alternator it had 1 wire bolted to the back and 1 tiny red wire on a weather connector on the top. the tiny wire didnt look big enough to carry any current so i was thinking it probably just went the computer for something and that the alternator is actually just a 1 wire setup. so am i way off or will it work without the weather connector wire?
