Default Do heads increase gas mileage?

I read cams decrease MPG, but will adding heads even it out by increasing it?

Thanks in advance.

it really depends on the combo - swapping camshafts doesnt always produce that outcome (with supporting mods ofcoarse)

I honestly get pretty much the same gas mileage that i used to...as long as I don't put the pedal to the floor.

How do you not put the pedal to the floor?

Lots of things can be read, whether or not they are true is another story.

It depends on the setup. If you can increase the engine efficiency then you will see an improvement in gas mileage as well. My Z06 with a F14 cam and Dart 205s gained 3 mph on interstate cruising.

Hey Bill, I don't drive with the pedal to the floor 24/7....It also depends on how well your car is tuned....the theory is that, you don't have to give it a lot of acceleration to go...therefore you get better mileage...

As stated before it'll all depend on the setup, yes in theory heads can gain you some milage.
