Should I get my car detailed? How much would it cost? I've only owned it about a month and a half, just got plates...I was thinking of taking it somewhere to get it detailed, I'd have no problem doing it, but time is of the essence with finals the next 2 weeks

X2 for doing it yourself. if time is a problem then just space out the steps some. work on the interior for an hour or 2 a day, then move to lets say the engine bay, then work on the wheels, and at the end of your finals do the whole car. doing the small stuff will just make it that much easier in the end.Not doing it before isnt a very good answer....everybody here has tried something they have never done before on their cars. Ya gotta learn sometime.Do some searches, there are billions of threads on this board about detailing in the appearance section. Im sure you can find something useful to you.

I drive the car everyday now, plus with school, I honestly only have 30 minutes here and there to come online or grab a bite to eat....

He said he doesn't have time to do it. Obviously he is busy. Nagging about doing it himself won't give him anymore time to do it. Back to the point though yeah it looks like you need to have it detailed. Whether its by you or somebody else. I have no idea how much it will cost. Maybe somebody with that knowledge will tune in and let ya know. Goodluck

If this picture is a general representation of the entire vehicle condition, a knowledgeable and competent detailer or service is going to demand several hundred dollars minimum for a decent restoration and blemish removal. Once it's completed, maintaining it that will way be the most important aspect.

Advise here by others to do this yourself is very sound and you'll be much more appreciative of the results you achieve. Everyone is a beginner or novice at some point.

Yes you need a detail. Do you have a buffer? Do it yourself. It's not that difficult. If I was to do your car I would charge at least $150-200 for a wash, clay, swirl remover, polish and wax.

Hell Im in the military,work 12 hours or more a day on a constant basis and still make time to do stuff like that.Its called using the time you do have wisely. I know dam well with him being in school he probably doesnt have a bunch of money to throw away on a car detailing so im trying to encourage him to do it himself.Not only does it give him a sense of accomplishment when it is done it will also save him his money in the long run.Hell I could be totally wrong and hes loaded with money and has money to throw away on detailing but thats just my thoughts on it.

How far from Charleston, IL are you? I usually charge $125-150 for a full detail (handwash, clay, polish, wax, interior, etc.).... Depending on gas I'd travel if you paid my gas....
