Default Ive got a hole in my head.

Just got my car up and running yesterday go to drive it to work today and as i get about 1/2 mile away the car started to have some serious valvetrain issues. So i pull in and take the valve covers off and to my surprise i have a huge hole on #7 intake port where the rocker arm bolts in. Its a brand new sdpc 347 w/ ported 59cc ls6 heads, 224/230 comp cam. Also took the plugs out of the drivers side and 1&3 looked great where as 5&7 looked really rich. Any help would greatly appreciated. Will hopefully have some pics up tonight if i can get the car towed back to the house.
*Pics added down a little further in post.

I think TSP supplies SDP with there ported heads. if so they'll take care of you as they had a bunch of those doin that with the old port design. call them. that still sucks though.

Sounds like the old TSP heads...

And SDPC does not get their heads from TSP. They get them from Patriot. TSP is the exclusive vendor for PRC heads- they make them inhouse (which I'm pretty sure you have the old PRC's from reading this thread)...

Also when i took off the intake every intake runner had an oil residue all on the walls except for the last two on the driver side. Its a brand new motor with about 40 miles on it. Also i just talked to the guy that used to own the car and he says that the heads were done by vengence racing.

the oil residue is from the crappy stock PCV system. You need to get a catch can. Did you check to see if there was oil on it before you put it on the new engine? I doubt you'd get that much with only 40 miles...

the fast 90 can use the pcv too. I just deleted the pcv system and put in a breather. no sigh of burning oil yet, but it only has around 120mi. on the combo

Does TSP put a serial number or a marking on their head to determine if this was one of theirs? And would they warranty this since you are not the one that purchased them?

Did you miss the part where the previous owner said the heads were done by Vengance?

vengeance ports heads on a cnc too? Ive never seen that. not that I know anything about vengeance though. just wondering if he only "bought" them through vengeance instead of them doin the actual port work. Id find out if I were you.

Just to clarify we do not port heads in house. We use TrickFlow TFS Cylinder heads as well as TEA for all of our installs.. I have seen the above quite a few times now. Common TSP issue on their old design....

Unfortunate situation to be in... goodluck with everything!!!

TorchRed, do a search under my posts, and you'll see strangely similar problems...

My car did the same thing with an old set of TSP LS6 heads...luckily, as usual, TSP stood behind their products and sent me a new set.

Good luck with the repairs...

Thats just the negatives of raising the roof of the port higher and higher trying to get more air flow for the ever demanding power monger lol. Stock castings have thier limits which is why aftermarket castings have bridged rocker mounting. Im not saying it doesnt suck Im just saying we live in a performance driven hobby and you run into this from time to time and thats part of the territory. Glad it didnt cause other problems/part failures....your actually lucky
