Well I was on the highway on my way home when I realized I forgot the clothes that I had bought at the barber shop where I had just gotten my hair cut. DAMN! So I turn around and what do I see? A SN-95 Style mustang(probably 02-04) turning behind me. It was orange with a Billet grill and some other appearance mods.

Well he instantly flew up on my ass and I dropped it into 2nd gear at about 55ish and punched it. He tried to keep up but...well it's a mustang GT so you know the story. Anyways, I wanted to try to get a run in heads up, but he was WAY back there and he seemed as though he was trying to stay away. So I slowed down to about 45 and waited for him to catch up.

So in 2nd gear at about 50 mph he tries to do a ricer fly-by(I was actually hoping he got on the side of me and lined'em up). Well in the midst of his ricer fly by, I punch it about when he makes it to my door and I leave him pretty easy and by 130 mph he was about...well a long way back.

Wish I could of gotten a heads up run in.

HAHAHAHAAH That's how it's done! YES! Hit him where it hurts! his ricer flyby was the only thing he had left, and you DENIED him!

Yeah after I denied him his ricer fly-by he hung about...a mile back and disappeared over the horizon in shame LOL.

if he had a jump on you and you nailed it when he got to your bumper my guess is that it was a v6 the new edge gts arent that slow from a roll.
oh well you won thats all that matters.

+1 on the 05+ GT, technically you messed around w/ an old body style GT, but good kill

too bad you couldn't get a heads up run though, the outcome would have been pretty much the same though.

Last time I checked v6 mustang's weren't equipped with GT badges and a v8 exhaust note...lol

I've drove an 01 GT before, and it definately wasn't anywhere near my LS1 from a 55 roll. Felt more like my Turd Gen.

Well I know it's the older style...I should of said "newer style SN-95."

the new edge gts are 13 second cars your ls1 is a 13 second car .not saying the ls1 is slower by no means that would be crazy.im saying the new edge gts arent that slow.

this is a fact not a opinion.maybe it was an auto car or the guy couldt drive.

A new edge GT would buttrape any near-stock 3rd gen.

Not really, 90-92 L98's ran 14.4's stock, atleast mine did. Full bolt-ons and I am right w/ a 99-04 GT.

+1 for 99-04 GT's not being 13 second cars, low 14's, even mid 14's occasionally....

I bought the car with the mods it has on it. And yes, 99-04 GT 5spds are more than capable of running in the 13s. Not very deep, but they are "13s cars." Just not alot of 13s drivers :judge:

i know a ford guy that drives a mustang and claims that you HAVE to do a ricer fly by after loosing a race to save face. lmao i tired telling him he had it all backwards w/ no luck, ehh he does drive a mustang...

I've NEVER seen 13's out of 99-04 GT's, and I go to the track every other week. I used to be in a mustang car club, and not one person out of 30 could touch 13.9s.

Ls1 4th gen cars run low 13's stock. There is a big difference from 13.1 to 13.9 I haven't posted my times yet but, I ran a 12.68 with a stock ls1 and a converter. This is going to continue the arguement further, but CUBE's and proper tuning make hp, unless its FI, Nitrous.

Well I guess either every person you've seen at the track in a 99-04 GT either can't drive all that well, or the conditions were not even close to optimal. Let me put it this way... there are probably more 99-04 GTs that have run a 13.99 or better stock, than LS1s that have run a 12.99 or better stock. Just because YOU haven't seen it, doesn't mean anything.

I go to an 1/8 mile track and most of the mustang GT's there run like 9.4-9.5 as opposed to ls1s running about 8.6-8.9.

That's a fuckin pitiful time, unless you're talking about a '95 Mustang GT. I had a '98 GT with exhaust and a bad miss that was running 9.4s. The people that can run an 8.6 in a stock LS1 could probably do an 8.8-9.0 in a new GT, and an 8.9-9.2 in a 99-04.

just posted a thread about this...DO NOT LET STANGS GET THE RICER FLY-BY i just let one go in modesto after puting 2 cars on him from 15-80mph and immediatly after getting in front of me he put on his hazzards . like he just walked me or something...dmb f_k!

Well i'm not saying I haven't seen a 99-04 gt do 9.00's, i'm just saying most of them down there are autos running like 9.5. Hell most of the 96-98 GT's down there run like 10.00's @ 71ish mph. Pretty sad. My 91 camaro with bolt-ons run's 9.00's @ 78 mph. Not bad for a turd gen.

Yeah, that is pretty sad. I guess your whole state needs dragracing lessons :jest:. My STOCK '94 Integra was doing 9.70s @ 74mph when it had 160k miles on it. But in all fairness, it was/is the fastest stock GS-R I've yet to find or hear of :drive:.

A lot of it probably has to do with track preparation, they don't seem to prep it as well on street legal fun night as they do on elimination day.

I ran a 9.70 @ 74.08mph... with a 2.37 60' time. Track prep was nil. Hell my Crew Cab Frontier (bone stock) was doing 10.1s @ 70mph the first time out at the track, with an open differential. Anyone running those times in a Mustang GT built after like 1986 needs their license taken away from them. Unless they live in Denver.

My friend has a 96 GT and he runs 9.5 @ like 73ish with exhaust only. The majority of them down at the track run high 9's low 10's. I know they are capable of faster, but for whatever reason they usually don't run any faster.
