What sub should I get for my MTX stealthbox with this Amp?
I have an MTX box with .6 cubic feet. I would like to get the best sound possible, but I don't want to get too much of a sub for the amp and I obviously don't want to get a cheap quality one.
What you need to know?
Brandname/Model NITRO
Crossover? hi/low
Channels? 1 2
Watts RMS? (if provided from maker) 200x1 Bridged, 2x100
Watts MAX? (if provided from maker) 800
800 Watts
Super High Fidelity Sound
2 Ch Bridgeable Amplifier
Wire Bass Remote W/LED
Built-in Full Crossover
Variable Low Pass Filter (LPF) 30Hz-250Hz
Variable High Pass Filter (HPF) 50Hz-1KHz
Variable Bass Boost (0-18dB)
Variable Gain Control
2-8 Ohm Load Capability
Mosfet Regulated Power Supply (PWM)
3-Way Protection With LED Indicator
Frequency Response 20Hz-30KHz
Less Than 0.03% THD
High/Low Impedance Input
45 Power & Speaker Connector
Gold Plated RCA, Power & Speaker Terminals

So you already have an amp, I would recommend a 10" JL Audio sub. I believe whatever is one step up from the W3 series. I had one W3v2, then 2, then 3. Then after that was stolen I went to 2 Rockford 12" P3's. As far as clarity goes I was very much impressed with the single 10" JL W3 and would recommend it to anyone. As I do not know what that amp puts out RMS I do not know if you are exceeding the woofer or not. Though you can always wire it up to a higher ohm to remedy that if you do so choose.

Whatever you choose -- just realize that bridged the sub should have an impedance of 4 ohms. If you are going to stick with that $80 amp - then find a nice efficient sub that is within your price range, and has a 4 ohm impedance. If you plan on upgrading amps soon - keep that in mind a lot of amps would like to see 2 ohms as the best performing. If you plan ahead for example and find a nice amp stable down to one ohm, go ahead and get a dual 2 ohm sub and you can run it at 4 ohms now, 1 ohm later.......etc
Not saying DO any of the above, but some things to keep in mind...??

Get some sub with dual 2 ohm voice coils so you can wire it to 4 ohms now, and when you upgrade your amp, you can change it to 1 ohm. When you upgrade your amp, make sure to get a monoblock that can handle 1 ohm impedances. 10w2s have such a config available but I don't think v3s do. Image Dynamics do also. I don't really feel like checking what other brands.
