Default Can I get 400+ rwhp w/ stock gas mileage from ported stock LS1 heads and LS1 hotcam?

I have a bone stock 2002 M6 Firehawk. I am considering porting the stock heads and going with a Ls1 hotcam. I am also considering a LS6 conversion. I want to make 400-450 rwhp and 390-450 rwtq. My main concern is drivability and gas mileage. I want my gas mileage and driveability to remain stock.

no

1) 400+rwhp is not going to remain stock....Basicly you need all the bolt-on's, heads (yours ported well would work) and a small cam. There is a good thread above in the sticky area.
2) The Hot Cam acts like a bigger cam, sounds like a bigger cam. ie NOT STOCK
3) Lets say you want 400hp advertised like they list cars in a mag. 400/.85= 340RWHP easy. Your about 290RWHP now. 50RWHP is a lot and still be stockish.
4) At 400-450RWHP the rest of your stock car won't hold up long. Clutch & Diff to start.

having ported heads and a hotcam (or a 224 cam or something) with all the necessary bolt-ons should get you 400 rwhp. i drove my hotcam LS1 everyday for 2 years and wasn't bad. if you have a good tune it can make the drivability good, but not stock.
keep in mind that every mod that you do to your car, in some way is going to affect the drivability.

if you want 400+ rwhp and stock gasmilage and drivability IMO nitrous is your best bet

So would an LS6 conversion with ported LS6 heads keep me close to stock in gas mileage and driveability?

What was the difference in driveability and gas mileage with your hotcam?
