I would have to say the mechanic is old school and is used to the old SBC stuff. I had a similar cam for the last 3 years and it drove like a baby. Only reason Im no longer keeping it is, I went BIGGER.

You'll be very happy with this cam. Enjoy!

Thats not that big at all. Considering the size of some of the cams that other people dd their cars with. I used to dd my car with a cam similar in size to that.

Default Not Too Big!!

I ran a MTI R1 (232/236 112) and it was fine. I do have a M6.

My idle was at 950 and a little lumpy, just enough to make me grin!!!

Its all in the tune. I good tuner is differant than a good mechanic.

Look at them seperately

You can rest easy dad. I daily drove almost the exact same cam to and from work in between cities and didnt even notice a difference in gas mileage (just power)

I wouldnt even hesitate or think twice.

Mine has no tune with the same cam on a 112. It can be driven with an m6, I doubt it would be much fun to drive in an auto.

You need to get it tuned, or it will likely be a PITA to drive. I will be getting mine tuned soon.

Mine was with an auto untuned and with a stall. I'll admit the idle surge was a PITA until I got that tuned out, I was able to live with it, but having some tuning made it perfect.

Sounds like questions you should ask "before" you buy a cam. You'll be fine. A tune would make it more driveable though.
