will it fit on an aftermarket shifter? maybe a billet from Hurst shifter-but with an Fbody style handle??? Any insight would be appreciated!

My personal favorite shift knob is the round leather wrapped ball that came in LS1 f-bodies. I had to drill and tap one to get it to fit in my Z06. I have a B&M shifter btw.

I thought the Corvette handle/knob have that little "T" piece of bronze or whatever in them and aren't threaded?

It's refered to as the demon pin and the knob is threaded. The pin is just to keep it from rotating.

As for the knob the thread size for the corvette is 9/16 x 18.

The hurst knob has been made to fit. A guy over on the corvette forum has done it. Try a search there.

The F-body and Corvette have different threads for the shifter so inless drilled and retapped it will not fit.

Hurst makes a knob specifically for the Corvette... its much easier than trying to make a Camaro one fit.
