can a non ball bearing turbo be converted to a ball bearing type. Specifically a Precision type 66mm.

Also what is exceptable shaft play on a 3000 mile turbo?

Will a ball bearing turbo last longer than a jounal stlye turbo?

The turbo itself using the parts you have can be converted, but would be very $$$. Cheaper to buy the DD CHRA and swap the end housings with it. Also as for longevity...well they both will last for a LONG time if they are properly built and serviced with frequent oil changes.
