Default Precision T76GTS vs. Turbonetics GT-K1000

I am planning a single turbo built 346. I am looking for about 750 rwhp and redline under 7. I know the T76GTS would probable be a good choice (correct me if I am wrong), but how would that stack up against Turbonetics new GT-K1000 turbo? I can't find much info on the GT-K because it is new. Don't know if anyone knows something I don't.

We have had the GTK's already, and they are nice units indeed, but other then a little quicker spool up, the power between the two units is very comparable. For the money the 76GTS is hard to beat though.

What rpm did the GTK reach full boost? Also what can I expect from the T76GTS?

The rpm will all depend on the setup. All things being equal though the GTK spools about 400-500rpms sooner then the GTS.

would a GTK 1000 be a good mate for a 9.0:1 370ci motor with 6.0 manifolds and 317 heads?

I would imagine it will work just fine, but e-mail or pm Jose (JZ 97 SS 1500), he knows all that since he and Jason do design and engineering with all the different turbos and wheels.

GTK uses a little smaller turbine wheel, but it is Ball bearing. As for power, the GTK will be a touch under the GTS, but will outspool it.

Do you think that the GT-K 1000's power rating of 1000 hp is conservative?

I would recommend a S400 turbo over both of those. They are a killer deal for $550 new

A stock S400 will lag alot more then the turbos mentioned. Plus they take up ALOT more room then the units mentioned as well.

987rwhp is the highest I've ever seen on a V8, of course that was not sustained.....just mearly a spike on the boost due to all the gate pressure that I programmed into the E-boost and no feedback on the bottom port of the wastegate. I figure that turbo is a solid 880-920rwhp turbo maxed out. The T-netics will probably do 810-850rwhp on a max effort. It will all depend on the pressure ratios.
