Default did well at Porsche autocross (vid)

They lump all non-Porsches into class X. XS is for stockers, and XM is for modified cars. So I was in XM.

I think I came in 1st in my class, and 3 rd overall out of about approx 100 cars (final results not posted yet).
The two cars that beat me were using Goodyear Eagle Racing Slicks.
So I was the fastest car on DOT tires, R compound.
One of them told me they average about 1 to 1.2 seconds faster on those slicks versus kumho v710's that I use.

I'll have to post pics later because my camera didn't work but some dude took lots of them of my car; maybe towards end of week I'll get them.

But here is a small video:

There was some serious iron there. Brand new 911 GT3 RS3; bright orange paint and michelon pilot sport cup R compounds. Beat him. A few 911 turbos. check. Good stuff and I represented the LS1's well.

I usually don't race with them but I wanted one more autocross before my open track event at Pocono on May 5th. It also let me test out a new gas tank internal bucket cover. I was under 1/2 tank and didn't experience any fuel slosh issues; previously I always had to run with full tank:

Thumbs up

Good job bro, those Super Beetles, err I mean 911s, have their motors in the wrong place anyway.
That cover looks like a helpful thing too.

You showed the high buck Teutons the quick way around, GREAT job!!

Have you ever consider a fuel cell for that thing, given that you're going to be doing so much open tracking/road racing?? (I know they are mucho $$$)

it was very cool. people were nice. cars were HOT. obviously an older, more mature crowd and nothing wrong with that.
course was very hard, which is a good thing. many people off-course at least once. including me.
for instance, last M club course I did it in like 36 seconds, but yesterday was 52 seconds. So much longer, and some slower, more technical sections.
I would race with them again anytime.
only got 7 runs but that was just because they did a charity thing at the end. pay $50 for one run in the new cayman S. winner gets $100 gift cert at porsche dealer.

i instructed one dude in his new 911 4S convertible. he told me he cracked a windshield in his new F430 the day before.

see orange car attached.
new 997 GT3 RS was stunning. A wide body, normally aspirated 6 cylinder, 415 Hp, 12" wheels from the factory, a stock Carbon fiber spoiler, Alcantara steering wheel and shifter. Beautiful and Fast.

thats my friend kevin. usually races with south philly region. but does hit etown scca and M club occassionally. its because of him i sold my car because he told his friend chris about it, and chris bought it. i think his best time was like 53.3 and mine was 52.2.
