Default Blown head gasket

My car had no symptoms prior to blowing the head gasket and I'm just wondering what the specific causes of this could be. Do I need to check anything specific while it is tore down or can this just happen due to mileage and running hard? These heads had been on the car for 2 years and maybe 30,000 miles.

What kind of compression do you think the motor is making? Are there any differences on the piston crowns, like color, texture?

Detonation (pre-ignition) blows head gaskets usually.
