Decal peeling!! HELP!!!

Question Decal peeling!! HELP!!!

I just put on my blackbird stripes yesturday and today i noticed that it is peeling in some corners. I tried heating it again but it just won't stick. I don't know how to fix it. What should i do????

How well did you prep the surface? Was there any wax left on? A good coat of wax underneath will pretty much fubar any stripe set.

before you apply a decal/vinyl to your car, clean the surface with acetone...this will remove all impurities from the surface of your vehicle leaving a "clean state"....after it is applied, rewax your car because the acetone will remove wax

Man you are going to have to rip them off or if its not too bad you can cut the corners verry carefully with a razor blade making it a rounder edge instead of a lifted edge, but if you are going to have to do it again just clean with alcohol and wipe off with a clean cotton rag and slap on some new ones.

i talked to him tonight, his hood was waxed and buffed a few times and all he used was soap and water to put on the decal , nothing to remove the wax. hopefully they will stick, but i dont know

that blows man, they may stick, for now anyway...good luck, but next time and sounds like there may be a next time, use acetone to clean the surface

Ok so i admit defeat and ordered new ones. This time i am going to solution bath the hood (strips all old wax), clay bar it, put on the stripes and then buff and wax hood.
