Default Hot Cam or Bigger

My buddy has a 2001 WS6 TA.

It's stock.

Here are the mods I suggested:

LS Hot Cam Kit
Vigalante or TCI stall 3600 rpm ,cooler and trans-go
3.73 gears
1-3/4 Kooks long tubes to 4" exhaust
emmissions kill
90 mm Fast Manifold and TB
Custom Tuning

Has anyone had experience with the Hot Cam Kit or is he better off going with a bigger custom cam/spring kit?

He wants to get near the high 300's for horse, without killing his stock tranny and the car will be daily driven.

Well what is the end goal?

Hot cam is mostly out of date but can still lay good numbers. It might or might not work for you depending what you want.

Most people myself included arn't too fond of the hot cam. Not to say it doesn't have a use or is a bad part.

A hot cam can probbly do that then, a 224/224 cam with a 112 lsa would also do quite nicely.

He's going to be down a few HP #s being auto but reaching high 300s with cam only is still doable. I'm sure you'll see a bunch of cars with setups like your friend would like on this site even.

Did you edit your first post or am I going blind/insane? lol!
