If they have race teams then they should. it doesnt take an absolute genus to intall a cam...just a little knowledge.

Cam install is not hard. You can probably find someone locally who would help you do it yourself. The big thing is going to be tunning. You need a good tune once the cam is in.

Sounds to me like your getting alittle ahead of yourself. What i would do is a few more bolt-ons before you jump into a H/C swap. Get your cat-back on, then i would suggest some LT headers. After that a ported stock throttle body, ls6 intake, and a stall if your an auto(and obviously a lid if you dont already have one). In the meantime, you can read up on the tons of cam installs on ls1tech, and in no time, you will probably have the confidence to tackle the job yourself. Check out Ls1howto.com for a full write-up on how to do a cam/valvespring swap on our cars. Good luck man

Got ya. I thought you were just installing a cat-back. But seriously man, check out some install threads started on here. Theres a ton of them, with complete walkthroughs, and also problems that guys are running into. Its really not that difficult of a job to do a cam swap. Swapping the heads isnt to difficult either, but it takes time, patience, and concentration. LS1howto.com has a complete write-up on a H/C swap. Read it over and decide if its something you can do yourself, because im sure a shop will charge out the ***.
