Rust on crank journals

Rust on crank journals I jut got my l92 crank in, and there are some flash rust spots on some of the journals. I have rear that machine shops polish journals with 300-600 grit tape.
Is there any rear danger in using like 1500 grit oiled paper to remove these rust spots?
