Default Help me achieve 9.0+ DCR

Well basically i am going to tune on e85 and would like to take advantage of the higher octane. I am looking to be able to make 12.5 to 1 compression

Basically i am wondering how much to have my heads milled when i take them and the block in for machining. Also is going to .030 cosmetics pointless? Basically i am looking to get the highest compression possible with my setup.

Here is my current setup

347
Forged ross 3.905 -4cc pistons
Forged Eagle H-beam rods w/ arp bolts
Stock crank
Arp bolts, ported oil pump, dual roller, chromoly pushrods
Trex Cam
cosmetic .040 gaskets
Ported 241 heads with dual springs, tit. retainers
Plan on spraying 200 shot at the most.
Ls6 intake, PTB tb possible 90/90
42lb injectors
HP Tuners
Headers with bullets
EWP and drag race alt.
th400 w/5500 stall and transbrake
9" with 4.11's 35 spline and a spool

Thanks for any help and its very much appreciated. Tim

I think to get to 12.5 to 1 SCR, you would have to go down to a 51 cc chamber. That's a lot of milling. Especially with 241's. With a Trex that should give you a DCR over 9, (9.21 is what I come up with).

Yea im not really set on a scr compression but would like around a 9.0 dcr. I will be running e85 so i would like to take advantage of that. I know 8.6 is still 93 octane level. Thanks for your help. I was going to guess aroun 55cc but might have to go lower to achieve that. Thanks

Okay - the calculator I'm using shows 9.08 with an .040 Cometic and a Trex with 52 cc heads. Still a lot of milling, might have problems getting things to line up ( Intake). The big duration of the rex does not lend itself well to high DCR's...

Here is what i use:

Thanks for the link. Yea i might be going to a victor jr. setup. I could have that machined to work with the heads but the composite intakes might have a problem. I hear that anything under 55cc causes a problem.
