Default Autometer LED's VS. collored bulb covers

Just purchased to Z-series autometer gauges and want to change the lighting to red... autometer makes replacement led sockets/bulbs and they also make red collored bulb covers. Anyone try either of these methods and how do you guys like the results? thanks guys!

Done both methods. Those bulb condoms don't actually look that bad but i prefer to spend the extra $3 on leds that illuminate a lot better.

Which look closer to the stock red lighting of a trans am? summit has the bulb covers for 4 bucks opposed to 10 bucks each for the led's... unless you know where to get the led's for a better price and what size to get? also you got any night pics?

The bulb size # is 194 . When you buy the LED's make sure you get the inverted cone tip . This will make the Autometer gauge light up more efficiently . Look at this page about a quarter of the way down

Oh one other thing . When you put the LED's in their sockets turn them
on . If they dont light up take them back out and turn them around .
LED's are one direction only to light up . Hope this helps
