Default My $300+ tire rotation

I went to this place called Kwik Kar off of 99 and Highland Knolls in Katy, and they used to give free tire rotations with oil changes. Well, they don't anymore so there was my first 20 bucks. The next $160 comes in when the dumb *** that rotated my tires only hand-tightened my lugs on my back left wheel and didn't gun or torque them back on. Two lug nuts fell off and I need 5 new lugs and 5 new studs. The next ~$150 comes in because the lugs bored out the hole where the lugs go in on the wheel from wobbling on the axle. I'll be going back to tomzwheels.com to get a replacement wheel (black C6 motorsports) and the manager will be getting both bills. And if he doesn't pay it, then I'll go however far I have to go to get it fixed. The real thing that gets me though is, if I didn't know enough about the car to realize that the other lugs weren't on good enough and tighten them myself (1 full turn and all 5 would be off), I would have been driving down I-10 or Westpark Tollway and I'd be minus a shoe at ~80mph. Kinda scary, but I think we all know what could happen then.....

I always take my car up to Peavy's Garage across Grand Parkway. They've always done a good job.

I use to work @ wal-mart TLE, if we did something like that, we'd be fired and Wal-Mart would have a lawsuit quick. People get a million off a tire job because it threatened their life.

You can't sue them for something that "may have" happened. That's ridiculous. You can, however, have them pay for the repairs to the vehicle and take them to court if they don't.

I went up to the manager yesterday and calmly explained the situation to him. He said no problem, just bring the receipts and I'll reimburse you for it. Great guy. Unfortunately, his workers are complete dumb asses. And as for suing him, I'm not gonna be a douche bag and try to sue somebody for something that didn't happen. Now if I would have been seriously hurt, I would have gone for all hospital bills, time off work, time away from school, emotional damage etc. But lucky for them I caught it. I've done some bone-headed things in my life (I'll admit...none that bad haha), and never had to pay that much for it. That company shouldn't have to shell out thousands for 1 ignorant worker.

Good choice, suing wold just be frivilous as he's offered to pay the damages.

If you try to get anything more, it will just waste your time, his time, and especially a very bogged down court system.
