Default Cam specs for my 370??

I got a recommendaton from Cammotion for my 370 and they said 230 int., 234 exh., .604 and .595 respectively on a 112 LSA. They said this would be a max power cam for what I'm doing. It will be a 6.0 .030" over, Mahle flattops, stock rods and crank with the L92/L76 combo. I'm shooting for 475 RWHP with an M6. Does this sound feasible to you guys? Any help or opinions would be appreciated.

You can hit 475 with that cam if you have enough static compression. Biggest problem with L92 heads is getting enough static compression with their large chamber. That cam is certainly not a max effort cam. With only 8 degrees of overlap at .050", it's going to be fairly mild in that large bore motor.

No doubt that would be a great cam with a high compression cathedral port head. The L92s have been very hit-or-miss once you pass 15 degrees of overlap at .050" with a 402. 17.5 degrees of overlap in a 370 is going to be a dice roll. Like I said, with a catheral port, you couldn't go wrong with that cam recommendation, but with a big-valved L92....hmmmmmmm....

A bit of tweaking once on setup will help, proper degreing, quench, DCR and countless tuning hours.
I run a 370 and I'm being held back in the head department myself with a 232/234.
It performs fine but motor can put out more.
However this L92 head thing isn't the best option yet.
I would stick with either properly done 243 or 035 (ie:6.0) castings if budget is a concern.
Otherwise AFR, ETP or RHS would take my vote.

I'm contemplating another head/cam swap over the Summer (too hot for racing, our down time).
Looking at either Livernois stage 3 (243s) or bare PP 59cc 035s with my choice of valves.
Cam will be similar to 240/244 (in that neighbourhood).

I have the 317's that came on it. Do you think that I should just have them gone through? The guy that is going to do my machine work has a flow bench and builds racing engines for a living. I guess I was really wanting to use the L92's because of price and potential. Aren't the 317's what PP uses for their LS6 style heads? If I use the 317's then that cam would be a pretty good choice I'm thinking. I'm wondering if Cammotion has messed with the L92's much yet because what they recommended me seemed kind of small for the flow characteristics of those heads.

I was planning on having the L92's milled to get the CR up around 10.5 or so anyways.

That's gonna make it a tougher to hit your goal of 475+ rwhp. Compression is your friend. Just make sure you explore ignition timing above 30 degrees with a low compression L92. Many are making best power in the 32-34 degree range.
