Default Why does the voltage gauge fluctuate?

Sometimes it'll start moving around.

Define "around"... Peg the gauge + or -? Go down past 12 and back up above? Does it do it when your blinkers are on? Do you have a system in your car?

As for some possible general answers: Bad connection on your batteries, starter, alternator. Or the alternators voltage regulator is going out, or that + more.

It doesn't peg just fluctuate slightly. There's no pattern as to when it does it. No system. I think the connector threads on the battery might be stripped. How can I get that fixed?

Buy another battery only. The threads are lead and too soft to try and repair.

No, you CAN tap it out, but don't heli-coil it lol Just get the bolt to match it. My friend does it all the time.
