3 pin or 5 pin maf
Just got done watching a vidio install of ls1 swaps from S&P(they are free if you call them and tell them to send them to you!!)what is the difference in the 3 pin and the 5 pin maf?Is it just years?Or is there a performance gain? Thanks

The 3 pin MAF is just a mas airflow sensor.
The 5 pin MAF has a mass airflow sensor and a air inlet temperature IAT sensor combined that way you don`t have to run them separately.
IIRC the f-bodies used a 3 pin, and the trucks used a 5 pin, I`m not sure about the vettes and GTOs.
I don`t remember what sizes were available in the 3 pin and 5 pin, my guess is that there are now 5 pin sensors that are better than the 3 pin B/C I think that GM was moving towards using the combined the MAF and IAT and the newer LS2s have huge MAF`s IIRC.
